Partly different conditions apply to renting a camper than renting other vehicles. Rental ConditionsA normal driving license is sufficient to driving a camper, but the driver has to be at least 25 years old. In individual cases, rental car agencies make an exception to this rule on request.International Driving LicenseThe car rental agency - and in most cases even the police - accept a national driving license. However, some insurance do not pay in the event of damage. For actuarial reasons, we therefore recommend to carry the international driving license.Rental DurationIn the high season, a minimum rental duration of 15 days applies. In the low season, a minimum rental duration of 7 days applies.Take-over and drop-offThe campers are located in Santiago de Chile. It is possible to pick up the camper or return it in another city. An additional premium will be charged in these cases. The amount of charge depends on the distance to Santiago de Chile.Take-over and drop-off are free of charge at the headquarters in Santiago during office hours (Monday to Saturday). Outside office hours, take-over and drop-off will be charged with an extra fee. Miles LimitThe campers are limited to 200 kilometers per day. 0.70 USD will be charged for each additional kilometer.Camper EquipmentWe offer 4 different kinds of campers. All campers measure 3,5 meters(m) x 2 m and have a height of 1,95 m. All of them have a kitchenette, a camping stove, a sink, a table, a bathroom with a toilet and a shower, an additional battery, a tank for fresh water and one for waste water, and an extension cord for external power source. The Comfort Camper are additionally equipped with a refrigerator, a flow heater and a heating system. The Single Cabin Camper are furnished with a 1,9 m x 1,2 m sized double bed and a single bed that measures 1,8 m x 0,9 m, they are suitable for a maximum of 3 persons. The Double Cabin Camper is suitable for 3 to 4 persons, the double bed measures 2 m x 1,4 m, the single bed is 2,0 m x 1,25 m.Border Crossing to ArgentinaYou can leave to Argentina without any problem. However, we would like to advise you that additional costs for comprehensive collision insurance and auto liability insurance, which are valid in Argentina, as well as notary permission, will be due. These costs amount to approximately 570 USD (+). Please inform us in advance – if possible at the day of your reservation – if you are planning to travel to Argentina. To receive all necessary documents together with the rental car, you must inform us at least two weeks in advance.Due to actuarial reasons, border crossings to Peru and Bolivia are not allowed. Automobile liability insuranceThe rental prices incorporate comprehensive collision insurance including deductible of 1,400 USD. For an additional charge, comprehensive collision insurance with deductible of 500 USD can be offered. Both rates include damages up to the camper’s total value, less the corresponding deductible.Personal liability insuranceThe personal liability insurance offered when renting a car, covers third party liability in the field of material as well as personal damages up to an amount of approximately 185,000 USD. If you wish an excess cover, we recommend to take out an additional casualty insurance (Traveler-Police) or to check whether you already posses a suitable coverage.Use of express highways in SantiagoAll campers are equipped with a TAG-System to be able to use the express highway in Santiago. The rental price includes an express highway-toll of approximately 18 USD. This amount is sufficient for the departure from and the arrival at Santiago de Chile. If it is exceeded, the additional amount will be paid at the drop-off.Price AdvantageDue to our good basis for negotiation, customers of „car-rental-chile.com“ profit from an exclusive price advantage up to 10% in comparison to a direct booking at the car rental agency.Tariffs – Currency fluctuationRental prices are indicated in USD. Our local partners draw up the account in Chilean Pesos and the prices indicated on this website can therefore marginally deviate from the prices in the offer you receive. The current exchange rate is the basis for our calculation and we update it every sixth months.Availability and BookingUpon request for an estimation of costs and a concrete intention to rent a camper, we will check its availability for the rental term mentioned and we will then send you an offer. Please be aware of the fact that the requested camper can only be booked bindingly in your name after a successful payment. The rental price can be transferred to our German clearing account.GuaranteeTo rent a car in Chile, you need an international credit card.
